Got bulky stuff to get rid of this Fall? Get organized and get rid of it all for FREE by the end of October, 2016. Here's a checklist for getting rid of bulky stuff:
COULD SOMEONE STILL USE IT?
1) Donate it to the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless, based right here in Lynn, MA.
Fill out the form for in-home pickup of good-condition furniture by clicking on this link: Furniture Donation Inquiry
Items must be clean and usable. The Coalition for the Homeless takes kitchen tables & chairs, couches & sofa chairs, ottomans, hutches, end tables, coffee tables, bed frames, dressers, bookshelves, cabinets, rugs, lamps, dishes, pots & pans, and blankets & linens. Your donation helps low-income and formerly homeless families furnish their apartments at no cost to them. The Coalition's phone number is 781-595-7570 x13.
2) Other Pickup & Drop-Off Options
Here are other organizations that offer free pickup and drop-off of your living, dining and bedroom furniture in good-condition. Most only require 1-2 weeks’ notice for pick up.Short on time? I have an old freezer I need to get rid of where can I go?
ReplyDeleteTake it to Turner, 225 Commercial Street, across from DPW. Saturdays from 8-12noon. Free to Lynn residents
DeleteEverything on here says no paint. How,do we get rid of our old paint cans then??
ReplyDeleteIf it is latex paint, you can dry it out and put it in the trash. You can bring it to dumpster day with LIDS OFF, proving it is dried out. You can use kitty litter or stuff like KRUD you can buy at HomeDepot to dry paint out faster. All oil paint needs to be taken to Household Hazardous Waste Day. The next one is on October 22 in Lynn, and you do need to pay depending on how much you drop off.

DeleteYou can take the couch to Covanta. The TV is e-waste. You can take it to Dumpster Day, this Saturday, September 17. You will need to pay $20 cash or to DPW, 250 Commercial Street, any Tuesday from 8:30-3:30 pm.
DeleteBest Buy takes tv's free
DeleteI have a treadmill about 6 yrs old. It is still fully functional, but need it to go. Who should I call?
ReplyDeleteList it on the Craigslist Free section or on Freecycle. See above for links. I have had a lot of luck getting rid of stuff this way, and you will not have to move it, the interested parties will come and pick it up.
ReplyDeleteYou can also call the donation centers but I think most do not accept used exercise equipment.
I have old carpeting i have ripped up. Where can i bring it?
ReplyDeleteI can bring a couch?
ReplyDeleteI was real sceptical of the movers I hired from past bad experiences. This time I took my search to Yelp ( which has never failed me in the past). It was hard enough to find some 5 star rated movers that were available in these summer months but these guys were able to accommodate me both moving days. I have lots of glass/delicate furniture that needed moving and they wrapped and moved everything carefully and to my satisfaction. Ryne (the owner) went far out of his way to make sure I was 100% satisfied and happy with my move from start to finish. I would definitely be using these guys in the future and would recommend them to anyone anytime!
